Caroline Chisholm Catholic College is a comprehensive co-educational Catholic School offering a rich variety of educational opportunities for secondary students from Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. This website has been prepared in an attempt to provide the community with a picture of Caroline Chisholm Catholic College that reflects these opportunities.
The College is Catholic – our Mission Statement indicates our aim “…to strive to live gospel truths and values” and, consistent with Jesus’ teachings, that we build a community of students, parents and staff that reflects these truths and values.
The College’s proud traditions had been built over more than 40 years and are based on the vision, dedication and sacrifice of so many including:
- the families of the Sunshine Deanery
- the Parish Priests of the Deanery who are the owners of the College
- the religious congregations who established the college especially the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and the Religious (Sisters) Society of the Sacred Heart.
The College is comprehensive. Every student has different interests, strengths and goals and we embrace this diversity and encourage all our students to find and celebrate their own identity. It welcomes all students and they are accommodated by the variety of learning opportunities. These include mainstream core classes, elective classes, classes/programs for accelerated learning, classes that provide targeted support for students with learning needs including integration students.
“On Track” research indicates that around 90% of our students proceed to post secondary education (university and TAFE). The balance proceed to employment, apprenticeships and other training centres.
The College is proud to provide an innovative teaching & learning program, complemented by fine facilities, resources and a progressive culture. Most of all, the College has a dedicated staff committed to providing the best possible education for adolescents in the 21st century. The College provides an education with ever strengthening global and technological perspectives. For example, Caroline Chisholm Catholic College has established links with schools in China and Japan and is building relationships with schools in Italy and the UK.
