Our Curriculum
Senior School
As students progress through the College, they are encouraged to take more responsibility for their learning and to take an active role in considering alternatives for their future.
In
Year 10, students have the opportunity to specialise in areas of interest whilst balancing the need for core study areas. Students are encouraged to undertake accelerated learning opportunities including the study of Unit 1 or 2 VCE subjects whilst in Year 10. For some students, enrolment in the Year 10 Options programme leads to Pathways which support an applied learning emphasis in their Post-Compulsory years of schooling. Opportunities for work placement and access to TAFE studies are available to these students.
Students in
Years 11 and 12 have the opportunity to choose the qualification which best suits their interests, whether it be the VCE, the VCAL or the study of VET subjects. With this range of choices, the senior school curriculum available at Caroline Chisholm Catholic College assists young people to develop the skills which will allow them, after completing Year 12, to move from the school setting into universities, training and further education, apprenticeships or employment.
