Student Wellbeing

Student Services

Pathways Centre

As students progress through the College transition support is provided to assist students with subject selection and individual pathway decisions.  Information on subject choices, career and tertiary opportunities, the world of work and apprenticeships are provided to our students by a well equipped and resourced Pathways Centre located on the Senior School.

Counselling

To also assist with the educational, social and emotional needs of students the College provides Student Counsellors. Counsellors offer guidance and assistance to students, and as, necessary to families.  They assist in the development of resiliency and other pastoral care programmes.

Information Services

An Information Services Centre is provided on each site of Caroline Chisholm Catholic College to enrich the teaching and learning programme at the College. The Information Services Centres provide defined spaces for students to study alone or in groups, and offers a comprehensive range of print and non print materials for research and pleasure. Computers are available to students for access to internet, CD ROM and other computer programmes.

The launching of Oliver, the new College “library database” system will provide ready and timely access to the College catalogue both onsite and eventually remotely.

Students are able to use the Information Services Centre before and after school, at recess and at lunch. The Bouchard Information Services Centre (BISC) can be accessed by students during term holiday periods.

ICT Services

The College provides and maintains up-to-date networked ICT equipment and facilities across both College sites, with staff access in all classroom spaces as well as the College Information Services Centres and meeting and assembly spaces such as the Sacred Heart Lecture Theatre, the Andre Coindre Centre and the Madeline Centre.

The College has student accessible computers in 9 computer labs, 2 computer pods attached to general classrooms, 1 senior science laboratory and within bookable spaces of both of the College Information Services Centres. There are also pods of Apple computers available for media classes on both College sites.

The high quality facilities and infrastructure are maintained by ICT Services. Students have access to network printing and the internet. Usage is charged against each student’s GAIA account.
