Year 10 and 11 students from Galgani House, Vike, Sarah, Mikaela and Stephanie are featured in this week’s Star Weekly with crocheted hearts prepared by teachers.
A number of teachers met in secret and covered the basketball court fence with hearts made from different coloured yarn – the College’s four House colours.
The fence will soon be removed to make way for our new multi-purpose hall (to commence in 2019) and the objective was to yarn bomb the fence ahead of the final assembly and mass for our Year 10 and 11 students on Thursday morning, 29 November.
As students left that day they were asked to take a heart – one for themselves and one to pass on to a friend or family member.
In a digital world our daily pace is fast, the act of making by hand is the complete opposite, it is patient, slow, imperfect and rewarding.
The initiative is all about connecting students to the College and each other through the simple of act of take and give.
