From the Deputy Principal - Teaching and Learning

When I reflect on the business of Term 3, there is so much to celebrate. There have been camps, interschool sports, the Winter music concert, camps, Year 12 Retreat and the Year 12 Formal, just to mention a few! We finished the term off with our Sacred Heart Day celebration. The students have engaged in Mass, followed by our fair to raise funds for charity and concluding with the much-loved talent quest.

As we lead into the holidays, I wanted to remind students and families of a few things:

Mobile Phone revised Policy to commence at the beginning of Term 3, 2024

The aim of the policy is to provide a safe environment where students can learn without inappropriate mobile phone use, (including cyberbullying) or distractions, and provide greater opportunities for social interaction and physical activity during recess and lunchtime.

  1. The individual student is responsible for the security of their phone. All students are provided a locker and an individual combination lock on commencement of their time at CCCC to ensure that secure storage of the device is possible.
  2. The phone is to be turned off and locked in the individual student’s locker throughout the school day, from the time they enter the school grounds until they exit the school grounds.
  3. Students will have their phone confiscated if it is visible whilst they are at school.
  4. At the cafe, students will need to ensure they have their compass card, order online or a physical bank card.
  5. Headphones and earbuds must not be used.
  6. Students wearing headphones or earbuds whilst at school will have them confiscated.
  7. Caroline Chisholm Catholic College does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to a student’s mobile phone/earbuds/headphones.

All students have been briefed about the expectations with regards to their phones, headphones and earbuds. Please take some time to read the attached policy and discuss with your child/ren.

Homework club

A reminder that homework club occurs at weekly at the following times and locations:

  1. Wednesday afternoons in the BISC (library) at 204 Churchill Avenue from 2:30 pm until 4pm.

  3. Thursday afternoons at 204 Churchill Avenue in the BISC (library) at 204 Churchill Avenue from 3:15pm until 4pm.

All students are welcome to attend these sessions. Sometimes your teacher or wellbeing staff member may recommend or ask that you attend.

Counselling

A reminder that we have counsellors available across all campuses for students to access. Students may receive up to 6 appointments based on their needs and support. The counsellors are available between the hours of 8am until 4pm. Please speak to your Learner Mentor or Year Level Coordinator should you need support in booking a time.

Finally, have a well-deserved term break. We look forward to seeing you all at the beginning of Term 3 refreshed and ready to take on the semester.
