Celebrating a year of growth, partnership, and hope, with our gratitude

As we approach the end of the school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every family for the trust you place in our College, and for the countless ways you partner with us to help each young person in our care to flourish. Our mission is to educate each student to their fullest potential within a faith-filled and inclusive community, and this objective truly comes alive through your presence, encouragement and open dialogue with staff. This ideal has formed part of the College’s Annual Action Plan for 2025 and will continue to be an area of focus for us.

This year has been rich in learning, wellbeing and faith experiences. Across classrooms and co-curricular spaces, all our students have experienced commitment from their teachers, who continually embrace high expectations, offer opportunities for leadership, and aim to help your child grow in confidence. Our community has continued to gather for liturgical celebrations and social justice initiatives; senior students deepened reflection and gratitude through retreats and their recent transition programs; and staff continue to apply evidence-informed practice to strengthen engagement, assessment and support under the MACS 2030 Framework and specifically through Vision for Faith, Instruction and Engagement. Our College is vibrant, caring and improvement-focused because the staff care and take up their roles with professionalism and under the ethos of the Ministry of Jesus.

Your child has experienced strategic offerings to enable student voice and agency, in respective Garema camp programs, they have built resilience and teamwork, in wellbeing initiatives that foster respectful relationships they have grown to appreciate their place in a respectful community, and in the everyday kindness that makes our College a welcoming place for all, they have identified how fortunate they are to be members of the community. Thank you for your encouragement, feedback and partnership that help these programs support your child to thrive.

Partnership with families: listening, learning, walking together

A cornerstone of our approach is genuine collaboration with parents and carers. We commit to clear communication, accessible policies and pathways for raising concerns, because student safety, dignity and growth are responsibilities we share. Your insights and participation in information sessions, completion of surveys, attendance at meetings and everyday conversations help to strengthen the culture of care and accountability that surrounds each child.

Our strategic directions also call us to be a community that “dialogues with and celebrates all members as equal partners.” In practice, this happens in our welcoming as we honour and celebrate diversity, when we create more opportunities to come together as a community, and in the creation of richer forums for open dialogue with you. Thank you for engaging so generously in this work throughout the year.

Each day, we strive to live our values of Faith, Acceptance, Compassion and Excellence by being thankful and appreciative, respecting and embracing each person, doing what is right and just, and taking pride in every success. These shared commitments shape our classrooms, our pastoral care and our relationships, and they are the foundation of the hope we hold for each student.

Thank you for the trust you extend to our staff. We remain steadfast in our promise to know each learner, to teach with clarity and compassion, and to provide the structures of prevention, intervention and support that allow all students to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. As partners in your child’s education, we will keep listening, communicating and working together so that every young person is safe, challenged and inspired.

As we prepare for the new year, we take forward the lessons and joys of this one, with gratitude for our families and confidence in the path ahead. May the holiday season be a time of rest, reunion and renewal for you and your loved ones. We look forward to welcoming you back and continuing our shared mission with energy and hope.

My leadership commitment as Principal of the College is to welcome you to be a part of the educational journey of your child. My door is always open, and I welcome you to please visit me so that I can hear your vision, your concerns, celebrations, consideration and reservations, as I know that our unified effort will bring the best out of the community in meeting the best outcomes for the students.

With thanks and blessings,
