House Program

OVERVIEW
At Caroline Chisholm Catholic College, one of the best ways to encourage teamwork, friendly competition and comradery is through our House Program.

When students first join our College, they are placed into one of our four Houses; Ambrose, Clare, Galgani or Lorenzo.

The House system develops students’ sense of belonging to the College and fosters school and community spirit during special events such as athletics day, awards, assemblies, talent quests and other celebrations. Students compete each year to win the House Shields in the categories of Academics, Sports, Culture and Community, culminating in the overall winner of the Brother Bouchard House Cup.

The House system aims to provide continuity in being part of our community, belonging, personal achievement and contribution over the students journey at our College.

Ambrose

St Ambrose was one of the four original doctors of the Church and is the patron saint of Milan. He is notable for his influence on St Augustine.

The bee is seen as a symbol of Jesus’ attributes. The honey reflects his sweet and gentle character, whilst the sting pertains to justice and the cross. When St Ambrose was an infant, bees settled on his face while he was lying on his cradle. The bees didn’t leave behind a single sting but a drop of honey.

St Lorenzo Ruiz was the first Filipino Saint. He is also the first Filipino martyred for his Christian Faith.

Motto

Non desistas non exieris (Latin)
