The Feast of Corpus Christi – Sunday 7th June
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, commonly known as Corpus Christi, is celebrated by the Catholic Church as a special opportunity to honour the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. This feast reminds us that the Eucharist is at the heart of our faith, nourishing us spiritually and strengthening us to live as disciples of Christ.
As we celebrate Corpus Christi, we are invited to reflect on the gift of Jesus, who gives Himself to us in Holy Communion and calls us to be His presence in the world. Through acts of service, kindness, and compassion, we become living witnesses to Christ's love, sharing the blessings we have received with others.
May this feast inspire our College community to grow in faith and to live our theme, "Be the Salt of the Earth: Serve with Humility and Compassion," bringing Christ's love to all those we encounter.
Prayer
Loving God,
As we celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, we give thanks for the gift of Jesus Christ, present among us in the Eucharist.
As we receive the Bread of Life, nourish our hearts with faith, hope, and love. Help us to recognise Christ not only at the altar but also in the faces of those we meet each day.
May the Body and Blood of Christ strengthen our school community to live as His disciples, serving others with humility, showing compassion to those in need, and working for justice and peace.
As members of this school community, help us to make choices that reflect Your love and respect for all people. Guide us to act with integrity, to speak with kindness, and to treat one another with dignity.
When challenges arise, give us the patience to listen, the wisdom to understand, and the courage to respond in ways that build up our community rather than divide it.
Help us to recognise that our behaviour affects those around us. May we be mindful of our words and actions, taking responsibility for our choices and seeking opportunities to grow when we make mistakes.
May our school be a place where compassion is stronger than judgment, where humility leads to understanding, and where every person feels valued and supported.
Bless our students, families, and staff. May we always be united in Your love and inspired by the example of Jesus to be the salt of the earth and a light to the world.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
