In the school holidays the Parents & Friends committee hosted a fundraising BBQ at Bunnings raising over $1500 for the College. Thank you to those who assisted at the BBQ or came by to buy a sausage and thanks to our fabulous P&F committee for arranging this event!
In Week 2 our College hosted it's annual IMAGINE Exhibition.
An incredible display of student work, this exhibition brought together both Visual Arts and Technologies works to showcase an array of students talents.
Congratulations to every student and staff member who worked so hard to make the opening night a success, and to all the amazing student artists who contributed to the display!
Our Year 12 VCE VM students recently completed their final outcomes for Unit 4 Literacy, Numeracy, Personal Development Skills and Work-Related Skills by planning, creating and operating the VCE VM Makers Market.
The project provided students with an authentic applied learning experience, allowing them to develop and demonstrate skills in teamwork, communication, problem-solving, budgeting, marketing and customer service. Through the planning and sale of a range of products to the College community, students gained valuable real-world experience while completing key coursework and assessment requirements.
Importantly, the market also provided an opportunity for students to give back to the community. All proceeds raised will be donated to the College Missions Fund, which supports families within our community through assistance with school uniforms and other essential needs.
This initiative reflects the values of the VCE VM program by combining practical learning with community service and social responsibility. It was wonderful to see students apply their skills in a meaningful and purposeful way while making a positive contribution to the College community.
Congratulations to our Year 12 VCE VM students on the success of the Makers Market and for their generosity and commitment to supporting others.
Before the formal proceedings of the Graduation Mass and Graduation Assembly, our Year 12 students came together to celebrate the end of their secondary school journey with a day filled with fun, friendship and tradition.
The morning began with a shared breakfast, providing students with an opportunity to spend time together and reflect on their years at the College. This was followed by a lively karaoke session, with students enthusiastically taking to the microphone and creating plenty of memorable moments and laughter.
The day culminated in one of the College's most cherished traditions, the student Guard of Honour. Students from Years 7 to 11 lined Chisholm Court to applaud the graduating class as they made their final walk through the College. It was a moving and meaningful farewell, recognising the contribution the Year 12 students have made to our community while celebrating all they have achieved during their time at the College.
After six years of learning, growth and achievement, the Class of 2026 concluded their formal education at the College with a Graduation Mass and Assembly, celebrated alongside their families, friends and staff.
The Graduation Mass provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their journey and recognise the role of God in their years at the College. It was a meaningful celebration of the friendships formed, challenges overcome and accomplishments achieved through six years of dedication and hard work. Together, students, families and staff gave thanks for the experiences that have shaped the graduating class and prepared them for the future.
Following the Mass, students gathered for the Graduation Assembly, where they were formally recognised for completing their secondary education. Each graduate crossed the stage to receive their graduation certificate and sash, marking this significant milestone in their academic journey. Students were congratulated by Principal Dr Rodezno and senior members of staff as they celebrated the culmination of their years at the College.
The occasion was both a celebration and a farewell, recognising the contribution the graduating class has made to the life of the College while looking ahead to the opportunities that await them.
We congratulate the Class of 2026 on this significant achievement and wish them every success and happiness in their future endeavours. We look forward to welcoming them back as members of our alumni community and following all that they go on to accomplish.
More than 150 alumni from the Classes of 1976, 1986, 1996, 2006 and 2016 returned to the College for a memorable evening of connection, reflection and celebration at this year's Alumni Reunion.
The event brought together former students from across five decades, providing an opportunity to reconnect with classmates, share stories and revisit the place that played such an important role in their lives. Throughout the evening, conversations flowed easily as alumni reflected on their time at the College, reminiscing about favourite teachers, lifelong friendships and the moments that have remained vivid long after graduation.
One of the most special aspects of the reunion was hearing the stories that emerged from each graduating year. From memories of school traditions and significant milestones to reflections on how the College has evolved over time, alumni offered a unique insight into the rich history of our community. It was a privilege to learn more about the College's past through the experiences of those who helped shape it.
The evening was a wonderful reminder that while much has changed over the years, the sense of connection and belonging that defines our College community remains as strong as ever.
Thank you to all of our alumni who attended and made the reunion such a successful and enjoyable occasion. We look forward to welcoming many more graduates back to the College at future alumni events!
Our Year 10 students have been enjoying Wellbeing Games spread across three days in their Learner Mentor time.
On Thursday, students had their finals, celebrating with one another and spending some time relaxing before they begin final exams and assessments.
Thank you to all the students who participated or cheered each other on and contributed to such a wonderful program!
Congratulations to our Eco Committee who received honours at the Rerum Novarum Awards!
This year our students chose to set up 10c bins to collect cans/bottles at key College events, with the proceeds going straight back into the garden beds to grow produce that is donated to the food run at Duke Street Community House. Students had to write a 1000 word research paper, a 1000 word impact report, a 1000 word reflective journal and produce a 3 minute video.
The College was one of only three schools to recieve an honours award, worth $1000, which the Committee will reinvest directly back into sustainability and social justice efforts both at the College and in the wider community.
It's particularly impressive as this is the fourth year that the Eco Committee have received official recognition at this event, and we're incredibly proud of our students and the impact that they make in creating a more sustainable world.
Congratulations to the students who came up with such a creative idea and ensured that it was put into place throughout the College!
On Thursday 29 October, a group of Year 10 and 11 student leaders had the privilege of representing Caroline Chisholm Catholic College at the Year 6 Leadership Day, hosted by Our Lady's of the Immaculate Conception Primary School, Sunshine.
We were honoured to be nominated by staff members who recognised our leadership qualities and selected us to help facilitate the day.
Throughout the event, we led a range of fun and engaging team-building activities, including River Cross, Rock Paper Scissors, Knives & Forks, Minefield and the Human Knot. These activities encouraged the Year 6 students to develop their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and willingness to work together.
A highlight of the day was the opportunity for several of us to share our leadership journeys. I spoke about my experience as Caroline Chisholm's Vice Captain of Community, and encouraged the students to remember that leadership is not defined by a badge or title; Instead, true leadership is demonstrated through everyday actions, kindness and supporting those around us.
The day concluded with a special presentation from the students at Our Lady's, who thanked us with certificates and chocolates. Receiving such positive feedback from both students and staff across the participating schools made the experience incredibly rewarding. It was a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community while helping to inspire the next generation of student leaders.
